Summary :
The Digital Media Coordinator for the Women & Politics Institute is responsible for creating and managing social media strategy, and the social media channels, for WPI and all WPI programs, including WeLead and Gender on the Ballot.
They will assist in creating and implementing a comprehensive digital marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance WPI’s branding and reputation internally and externally.
This position will report to the Executive Director of the Women & Politics Institute.
Essential Functions :

1. Create and manage social media strategy for WPI
Execute the planning and creation of content for WPI’s multiple social media channels. Determine, by using data-driven analytics and by staying current and incorporating social media trends,the best types of content and channels to effectively reach target audiences.
Write copy, as well as review and approve social media posts written by to ensure consistency and ensure coherent brand messaging.
Maintain an eye for detail and deliver to deadlines.
Work with SPA’s Marketing departmentto consistently report analytics from social media campaigns and use those metrics to refine strategy on an ongoing basis.
2. Multimedia creation, design, and layout
Work with the Director, the Assistant Director, and other team members to assist in creating and incorporating graphic design, video, and layout elements for multimedia efforts on the web, in email marketing, and social media (paid and organic campaigns).
Edit video recordings of events, and as part of communications initiatives, create short videos highlighting WPI initiatives.
Have a good eye for design and ability to work within a team to achieve integrated communication goals.
3. Write and edit copy for digital materials
Write timely, succinct, and accessible social media captions, digital advertisement copy, email marketing copy, website copy, and other stories as assigned.
Proofread and copy edit all content used for digital purposes.
4. Team Management
Work with team members to create and deploy graphic designs for social media, website content development, and in email marketing campaigns.
Collaborate on integrated communications plans and projects and review completed tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Manage any student workers assigned to social media tasks as necessary.
5. Special projects as necessary
Assist the Director, Assistant Director, WeLead Program Manager, and Gender on the Ballot Editor with any special projects as necessary.

Salary Range : $28 per hour.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
Part Time.
26 hours per week.
Occasional weekend and night coverage of WPI events for social media / website / promotional materials.
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent .
1-3 years of relevant experience .
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and proficient in Microsoft Office, social media, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
