Job Description

The Human Resources Director position is responsible for supporting the LIVunLtd platform by providing HR leadership for all 2,000+ employees across several departments throughout Canada and the United States.

This individual is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

The HR Director maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

This is a hybrid position with at least 2 days onsite per week. Candidates must be local to Manhattan, NY or Charlotte, NC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave;
  • disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale;

occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Develops and executes best practices for hiring, retaining and developing talent.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with United States and Canadian federal, state / provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices;

reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law;

applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Complete administrative duties as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in human resources, professional development, and training, or employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and respective federal, state / provincial, and local employment laws.
  • In-depth knowledge of New York State / City employment law.
  • Previous experience or general exposure to Canadian employment law.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Travel to different offices across the United States and Canada.

COMPENSATION

The HR Director position with LIVunLtd has a starting salary of $110,000 - $120,000 per annum. The range above is a good faith estimate based on the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.

If that ends up being the case, the actual salary may vary from the estimates provided above.

In addition to base salary, the HR director position is eligible to receive an annual performance incentive award bonus.
