About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

Profession : Cath Lab Technologist

Specialty : Cardiac Cath Lab

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 10-hour Days

Hours per Shift : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year

License : Active IL license required

Certifications : ARRT, BLS, IEMA

Must-Have :

• Previous cath lab experience
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Experience with McKesson cardiology PACS preferred but not required

Description :

The Cath Lab consists of six suites / labs.

The lab performs an average of 10 to 15 cases per day.

Duties include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating.

Cardiologists are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

A primary charge nurse is available from 0600 to 1530 and does not routinely complete cases, but will take call.

Shifts include nine-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

On-call hours are required weekly on a rotational basis.

Typical call requirements are 8 to 9 shifts per month.

Holiday call requirements are also on a rotational basis.

Call response time is 30 minutes from the time of the page.

Staff are not required to float at this time.

Scrubs are provided.

Orientation is 3 to 5 days in duration.

There is a mandatory call list utilized when staff cannot fulfill their call shift.

The setting is acute care with a trauma level of 1.
