Pathway is a nonprofit special education school for students ages 5 to 21 (grades K-12+) from over 50 regional school districts and charter schools.

- POSITION SCHEDULE :
- 2 days per week
FUNCTIONS : The Speech and Language Therapist supports the education of students with disabilities or speech and language impairments in their least restrictive environment by developing, implementing, and coordinating a speech and language therapy program, and providing screening, evaluation, and intervention services.
EDUCATION REQUIRED :
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Minimum of 3-years experience working in an autistic support education environment with students who may have significant social, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Experience working with early elementary autistic students who may or not be non-verbal
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluates the speech and language therapy needs of students, using appropriate tests, professional observations, and supplementary information from other sources.
- Interprets assessment findings and conveys information to parents and school staff.
- Participates in the development of Individualized Education Programs.
- Develops and implements intervention strategies and follows multi-tiered systems of support model employed by The Pathway School.
- Tests students for services who are receiving early intervention services.
- Develops speech and language plans and services for daily classroom activities and trains staff in its safe implementation.
- Evaluates and reports on student's progress.
- Assesses the need for assistive technology and equipment and makes recommendations for its use at school to help students function and communicate as independently as possible.
- Documents speech and language therapy services and maintains records in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- Maintain up-to-date records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and communication with parents.

Pay : $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
