Job Summary
Atlas is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Trainer (Practice Team Manager 1) to teach and manage various training programs at our regional office in Columbia, MD.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- The training director will be responsible for ensuring that the training program always complies with all MDE and Virginia asbestos application requirements for accreditation and shall be directly involved in the EHS training programs.
- Development and / or revision of EHS training programs
- Review of instructor qualifications and determination of foreign language fluency of proposed instructors for training programs conducted in languages (Spanish) other than English.
- Monitor performance of instructors
- Recruit instructors as needed.
- Development and / or revision of applicable final examinations
- Monitoring the quantity and quality of all EHS training provided
- Maintenance of training records
- Engage training clients, maintain relationships, and further build program.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
- 10+ years in environmental health and safety fieldwith a focus on asbestos
- 5+ years instructing asbestos classes for training programs in Maryland and Virginia
- Familiarity with lead and mold related training programs
- Knowledge of, and ability to instruct on, various OSHA topics / classes
Technical Requirements :
- Experience in designing, implementing, conducting, and evaluating either employee educational programs or vocational educational programs related to the EHS training preferred.
- Safety and Industrial Hygiene certifications (CSP, CIH, etc.) a plus
Other miscellaneous qualities :
- Professional, initiative-taking, collaborator with strong collaboration skills
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
