- Friday, Saturday 10 : 00 a.m. 9 : 00 p.m.
- Sunday 10 : 00 a.m. 6 : 00 p.m.
Job Summary :
Under the general direction of the Retail Manager, the Sales Associate is directly responsible for providing exceptional and consistent visitor care at the Museum Shop.
The Sales Associate handles all sales transactions from beginning to end with attention to detail and superb customer service.
In addition, the associate assists with inventory and merchandising maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications :
- 1 to 2 years of retail or customer service experience.
- Basic retail knowledge, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory control, and merchandising.
- Ability to handle retail transactions from beginning to end, including processing of cash, credit cards, and gift certificates.
- Must enjoy working with the public, meeting new people, and partnering with volunteers and coworkers across the Museum.
- Ability to engage with museum patrons in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
- Honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, perspective, and a strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow-through.
- Ability to work within and support a diverse community of visitors, artists, and employees.
Working Conditions and Atmosphere :
The Sales Associate works with minimum supervision. Work will often be performed with short deadlines and situations sensitive to the Museum.
Regular office hours are required. Due to the nature of the responsibilities, evening and weekend work is sometimes required, and at times may be on an emergency basis.
