POSITION CONCEPT
The Project Superintendent has responsibility for the coordinating, planning, estimating, and scheduling all contracted activities on a day-to-day basis, as well as planning contracted resources and coordinating Energy Delivery support activities.
The Project Superintendent will provide direction, supervision and coordination to other Planner-Schedulers, Controls Analyst, and training support to assigned direct reports.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assign duties and responsibilities to Planner Schedulers, Construction Supervisors, and Backup Planners and follow work progress at each site daily.
- Ensure that contractor management processes are adhered to by planning and scheduling team.
- Review manpower performance and make salary, promotion, and training recommendations to construction manager.
- Maintaining relationships with other departments to ensure coordination and cooperation.
- Ensure reporting responsibilities are assigned and reports are properly developed, maintained, and utilized in the development of ongoing construction activities.
- Lead the establishment, and improvement of planning, estimating, and contractor crew scheduling processes, systems, tools, and methods. Etc.
- Lead efforts in development of historical Standard Operating Procedures.
- Determine and address personnel developmental needs of direct reports.
- Ensure the priorities of management resources, best practices, cost control, contractor relations and employee development are included in all decisions and directions taken.
- Assist the Construction Manager in developing and maintaining relationships with multiple contacts including : Energy Delivery personnel and management;
contractor personnel; construction companies and their senior management; and the local leadership of the union building trades

Direct Supervision : Direct Supervision of assigned personnel
Indirect Supervision : Indirect Supervision of all contractor management planning personnel
RELATIONSHIPS
Key Internal : Interfaces with Contracting Partner, Engineers, Planning Groups, and Managers. Communicates daily with Contractor Supervisors, Construction Supervisors, and with the SPP Construction Manager
Key External : Frequent contact with Senior Management of contractor firms regarding development of estimates and manpower planning.
Frequent contact with SPP Warehouse, and TECO Buyers .
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required : High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or related degree.

Direct Experience
Minimum of 10 years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is preferred
College degree may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience.
Related Experience
Required : A minimum of ten (10) years’ work-related experience in the following areas : Planning and Analysis, Power Production Facilities, Scheduling and Work Management System (Workman,WorkPro).

Required : A minimum of 10 years of Supervisory experience is required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA)
Required : Ten (10) years’ experience in power plant / energy delivery operations or maintenance required. Experience in estimating contractor work utilizing proven methods.
Must understand Construction Management techniques and the role of Energy Delivery Planner Schedulers. Must understand Energy Delivery contracting methods and be familiar with the capabilities of associated contractors.
Must have strong leadership skills. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Handle multiple duties and responsibilities and be accountable for those actions.

- Respond to Project needs with 24 / 7 coverage
