As a Senior Public Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in managing accounting and tax engagements while mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities :
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants and interns to ensure high-quality performance.
- Review work for accuracy and completeness, providing guidance to staff as needed.
- Independently manage multiple projects, adapting to frequent changes in the professional environment.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of accounting and tax principles to handle designated client engagements.
- Prepare and review a wide range of accounting and tax documents for clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and timely delivery of services.
- Research tax and accounting issues, preparing memorandums as necessary.
- Identify opportunities to expand client engagements and provide value-added services.
- Draft and issue client bills promptly and accurately.
- Support the firm's mission, vision, and values by upholding a high standard of professionalism.
- Provide regular feedback to staff and interns, conducting performance evaluations.
- Delegate assignments effectively, ensuring efficient workflow management.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills to contribute to process improvements in tax and accounting practices.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all client and team discussions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA certification preferred, advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience, specifically in tax and accounting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to meet deadlines while managing a high volume of work under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, tax compliance software, tax research tools, QuickBooks, and trial balance systems.
