About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapy Assistant Job Specialty : Acute Physical Therapy Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8H Days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Greater than 1 year of experience preferred;
preferably with travel experience dependent on interview / skills License : Current LA PTA license required Certifications : Current LA PTA license required Must-Have : Ability to manage a case load independently and experience with a variety of patient types Job Description : Treat inpatient rehabilitation patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, multiple traumas, hip fractures, bilateral knee replacements, post-cardiac surgery, post-COVID, and medically complex / debilitating conditions.
- Assist acute care patients following cardiac and orthopedic procedures or those with complex medical / debilitating conditions.
- Support outpatient general orthopedic (surgical and non-surgical) functions, sports medicine, pediatrics (developmental), neuro-specific diagnoses (higher functioning), and spinal patients (surgical and non-surgical).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.- Participate in general hospital orientation, as well as departmental and site-specific orientation.
- Utilize the Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system for inpatient rehab acute care and transitioning to Meditech Expanse for skilled nursing.
- No floating between facilities unless otherwise specified.- Generally, work hours are from 0800 to 1630, depending on the location.
- Participate in a weekend rotation, usually one per month for inpatient rehabilitation and acute care.- Adhere to dress code : Pewter scrubs for inpatient or professional dress for outpatient.
- Discuss time off and holiday expectations during interviews.Note : This role does not include on-call responsibilities or holiday work.
