Position Purpose :
Plays a crucial role in assisting members through the mortgage application process. You will be responsible for evaluating clients' financial situations, providing expert advice on loan options, and guiding them from application through to closing. Your goal will be to deliver excellent member service while meeting the company's sales targets and compliance standards. Is aligned with and promotes U1 values.
Education / Certification :
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- NMLS Certification - Current or must be obtained within 30 days of hire is required. Additional licenses may be required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be a substitute for formal education.
Experience :
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or in a similar role within the financial services industry.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and be on call.Understanding of the Credit Union's field of membership.Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products.Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong interviewing and written communications skillsWell organized with strong attention to detailStrong financial math skillsAbility to analyze financial documents and assess loan risk.Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.Understanding of mortgage loan processing functionsExperience with loan closing procedures and document preparation.Advanced knowledge of mortgage loan products - FHA / VA, conventional, construction lending and portfolio programsKnowledge of Microsoft Office productsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
