AUDIT ASSOCIATE
Job Overview : As an Audit Associate, you will be responsible for supporting audit engagements by performing financial audits, assessments, and evaluations of clients’ financial data.
You will collaborate with senior auditors and managers to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with relevant standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
The role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to client service.
Responsibilities :
Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements for clients in various industries.
Prepare audit workpapers, documenting findings, and ensuring they comply with the firm's policies and procedures.
Review prior audit reports, analyze financial data, and assess key risk areas.
Conduct tests of internal controls and substantive procedures on key areas of financial statements, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets.
Verify client financial information by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
Perform analytical procedures to identify any irregularities, variances, or trends that require further investigation.
Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with GAAP or IFRS.
Prepare and review audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations in formal audit reports for submission to clients.
Maintain effective communication with clients to gather necessary audit evidence and resolve any discrepancies.
Respond to client queries and provide feedback on audit-related matters in a professional manner.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and audit regulations.
Ensure that all audit documentation is completed and properly filed in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with Audit Seniors, Managers, and Partners to deliver high-quality audit services.
Provide assistance on special projects and other duties as required.
Stay up to date on accounting and auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
Participate in internal and external training programs to improve technical and soft skills.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation (or working toward obtaining it) is preferred but not mandatory.
0-2 years of experience in auditing, public accounting, or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Familiarity with audit software (e.g., CaseWare) is a plus.
Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
