Accountant II

The Accountant II is responsible for processing and maintaining accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other accounting records as directed by the Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with leadership and others to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
  • Effectively completes a variety of clerical tasks and responsibilities.
  • Enters daily transactions into accounting software.
  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Reviews all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Prints and obtains signatures on all Accounts Payable checks.
  • Maintains all Accounts Payable and Receivable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.
  • Reconciles bank statements and ledgers.
  • Assists with customer invoicing and account collections.
  • Completes customer credit memos and runs credit card payments.
  • Performs account reconciliations for various customers.
  • Assists in monthly closings performs GL account reconciliations as needed.
  • Assists in filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Performs filing and copying.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in accounting or related field, and / or comparable experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Proficiency with general ledger accounting software.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret important instructions, guidelines, and / or communications and respond accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Travel Requirements

  • Some travel may be required, less than 10%.
  • Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality.
  • Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, hear, bend, and reach.
  • This position may require heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
