About The Position
Job Title : Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty : Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8, 10, 12-hour Day / Night Rotate Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : Required to submit Certifications : ARRT, BLS Must-Have : At least one year of experience, first-time travelers accepted, CT experience required (no certification needed), bonus for IV starting experience Job Description : Utilize imaging technology to perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including common plain films, extremities, chest, and others.
- Conduct CT scans with a focus on head, chest, abdominal / pelvic imaging, and occasional angiographic studies.- Operate and maintain department equipment, including Siemens X-ray and portable machines, as well as GE CT equipment.
- Responsible for basic patient care and maintaining patient safety and comfort during procedures.- Assist in the smooth operation of the radiology department by managing the average daily workload of approximately 30 X-rays and 10 CTs.
- Use PACS (Novarad) and EMR (CPSI) systems for imaging management.- Follow department policies regarding shifts and scheduling, typically working four 10-hour shifts per week, from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday (7 am-5 pm or 7 : 30 am-6 pm).
- Participate in an on-call rotation, with a response time of 30 minutes, or 20 minutes for trauma cases, one night per week.
- No weekend duties typically required for travelers; call duties include one weekend every four months.- Adhere to dress code requirements, wearing personal scrubs without specific color requirements.
- Engage in a department-specific orientation, shadowing another tech for about a week or until comfortable.- Work in a rural area, understanding specific operational aspects like the mobile MRI unit with its own techs.
- Report issues or questions during regular hours to the radiology manager, with after-hours service provided.This role demands professionalism and adaptability to thrive in a rural acute care setting.
