GENERAL SUMMARY : Under general supervision and in conjunction with a Physical Therapist, assists in carrying out individualized programs of physical therapy.
Demonstrates an appropriate level of clinical skill, as evidenced by correctly following individualized and effective treatment plans, in order to achieve precise, functional goals.
Develops treatment goals consistent with the physical therapist’s treatment plan. Provides direct physical therapy services to patients.
Uses excellent communication skills to educate patients and engage them in their own care. Stays updated regarding developments, new techniques, and equipment in the field of physical therapy.
Maintains a well-rounded knowledge base, and clinical reasoning skills to consistently achieve expected clinical outcomes.
HOURS : PRN / Registry, 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm, 2 weekend shifts every 4 weeks - PRN flat rate plus shift differentials apply.
SHIFT INCENTIVES UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $15 / HOUR AVAILABLE for shifts picked up beyond the initial requirement (which is 2 weekends per month).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- Requires an Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as positive attitude, flexibility, energy, and commitment to teamwork required.
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
- Current State of Illinois Physical Therapy Assistant licensure required.
