Overview :

In this role, you will leverage the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies using innovative project management methods, including model data extraction for quantity takeoffs and estimating purposes, constructability reviews, assist with design coordination using automated clash detection methods, and construction sequencing animations for pre-construction planning.

Experience in Revit production in one or more engineering or architectural disciplines is necessary.

Job Responsibilities :

Creation

Utilize BIM 360 to create new projects, setup model files and implement BIM standards.

Coordination

Develop and maintain integrated project coordination models using Navisworks software, and create clash detection reports based on analysis of multiple design disciplines and trade subcontractor 3D models.

Assist the day-to-day operations of the coordination process during design and construction.

  • Collaboration
  • Participate in virtual collaboration meetings with the project team, while leveraging the coordination model as a decision-making tool to solve complex coordination issues.

Attend kick-off & Client meetings.

Support Project Team for Presentations with BIM-Model and related activities.

  • Standards Compliance & BIM Execution Plan
  • Monitor client standards and update as required.
  • Prepare BIM Execution Plan and BIM Project Guidelines for projects.
  • Production
  • Manage BIM production, BIM collaboration and coordination, issue management, as-built verification, BIM handover, and other BIM processes.
  • Work with BIM modeling team on production of 3D models and 2D drawings from BIM (or directly) for C&S / M&E works.
  • Production of BIM deliverables such as 4D, 5D, and 6D.
  • Manage the BIM deliverables schedule and ensure timely delivery of good quality models and drawings.
  • General Model Coordination
  • Serve the the lead in creation of new projects by working with design teams to establish the appropriate BIM parameters.
  • Start the project with Haskell standard template.
  • Create the title block and sheet sets.
  • Updates the modeling schedule.
  • Attend project meetings when requested and update the modeling team on changes.
  • Make sure best practices are being used.
  • Provide quality review of models across all disciplines to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Guide and support the design team (regardless of being on production team or not).
  • Coordinate with any analytical efforts (clash detection, solar, energy analysis, etc.).
  • Maintain records of all issued and received models / drawings, clash reports, RFIs, etc. in accordance with the company's standards and procedures.
  • Perform regular backups and housekeeping work in the model.
  • Modeler / Design Support
  • Conducts onboarding for every designer / modeler added to the project.
  • Provides support for less experienced designers.
  • Attends project meetings and communicates with design modelers.
  • Conducts interdisciplinary meetings with all modelers to resolve design conflicts..
  • Works with A / E Technology Manager to solve hardware or software issues.
  • Support in properly archiving models during a project and after it is finished.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining Revit templates and manage / edit families.
  • Model Evaluation
  • Periodically evaluates the model.
  • Evaluate models using Clarity and the Project Evaluator as required and identifies deficiencies or coordination issues.
  • Plan, set up, and maintain models during project design.
  • Use lessions learned from previous projects to ensure that high priority elements are depicted and modeled accurately by drawing specifications.
  • Perform interdisciplinary clash detection and provide team members with clash detection reports and host / moderate clash detection meetings to resolve issues.
  • Ensure coordination between Civil 3D, Plant 3D, and Revit software platforms.

Education / Experience :

Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology

5 to 8 years of experience in BIM / VDC Technologies in the AEC industry is preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications :

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in a design and construction environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable hosting meetings and resolving conflicts between different parties.
  • Ability to work independently to provide BIM deliverables. Good understanding of time and effort required for technical tasks.
  • Passion for innovation and utilizing new technology for construction.
  • Well versed in at least one BIM platform (Autodesk Revit, Bentley OpenBuildings Designer, TEKLA, etc.)
  • Well versed in at least one BIM coordination platform (Navisworks, iTwin, Revizto, etc.)
  • Good planning skills in managing modeling and drafting works.

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations;

and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application / form information.

The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
