Traveler Experience : Unit does not accept first time travelers

Locals Accepted / Rate Difference : Does not accept candidates within 50 miles of facility

Skills : Admit and care for labor patients, Must be able to care for mother baby couplets, Level 2 nursey experience required

Certs : AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP

Float Requirement : Float to Nursery, Post Partum, Med Surg and other units when census is low

Weekend Requirement : every third weekend / 4 weekend shifts per contract

PATIENT DIAGNOSES : Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in labor and delivery and post partum care. The postpartum nurse must be able to manage a 3 couplet assignment for a total of 6 patients, attend a delivery as a baby nurse and provide resuscitation and stabilization to the infant after delivery if needed.

The candidate must be able to triage 1-2 labor patients, assume labor patients with 1 : 1 acuity including labor patients with hypertension and insulin dependent diabetics. Labor and PP pts.
