What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $28.
00-$32.00. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to :
A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 11 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday and1 volunteer day per year

Location
This position will be based either at Roslyn (5440 Roslyn St., Denver, CO 80216) or Central Platte (1271 W. Bayaud Ave., Denver, CO 80223).
The shifts available are 6 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM or 2 : 30 PM - 11 : 00 PM. Both the shift timing and location will be determined and discussed during the hiring process.
There is a 7% pay increase for the later shift!

Fleet Management looks after 2,400+ vehicles and equipment, aiming to keep 96% or more city vehicles available. The team oversees vehicle use, maintenance expenses, replacements, new vehicle purchases, heavy equipment, and fuel contracts for Denver's City and County vehicles.
The Fleet Management team is seeking new members for the role of Fleet Technician I. This role offers a fantastic entry point for those seeking mentorship and a pathway to advance as a Fleet Technician.
As a part of this role, you will work on repairing, inspecting, and maintaining light, medium, and / or heavy fleet vehicles and equipment.
You'll have the chance to work with various fuel technologies, such as gasoline, diesel, electric, CNG, and other alternatives, and benefit from all the latest diagnostic tools and manufacturer training!
Specifically, as a Fleet Technician I you will :
Inspect equipment brought to shop for structural integrity and other potential safety and maintenance problems
Repair or replace worn parts not requiring major mechanical work. Identify and report to supervisor any major problems requiring mechanical attention
Inspect primary and auxiliary operating systems for loose and worn parts, hydraulic systems for faulty cylinders, hoses, or fittings, and air systems
Remove, repair, and replace wheels and tires on equipment
Respond to emergency road service on tires, tubes, and wheels of specialized and heavy-duty automotive equipment, utilizing hydraulic jacks and lifts
Remove and replace sealed beam lighting units, light bulbs, light bars, and fuses
Operate all types of vehicles and equipment to servicing and storage area
Wash and steam clean equipment and clean work area
Participate in snow removal duties as assigned
We supply safety steel-toed boots and uniforms. To begin, you'll need to bring your own tools. Upon completing one year of employment, you'll be eligible for a $1,000 tool allowance.
