RESPEC seeks a student civil engineering intern for our summer 2025 program located in our Sarasota, FL location.

Job Description
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff. This position involves work tasks that support planning, design, and construction of various water resource engineering projects, and general site-civil development.
Interdisciplinary work with hydrogeological science staff is also anticipated. Additional responsibilities include :
- Hydrologic / hydraulic analyses
- Calculations, and design
- Preparation of reports, figures, and technical documents
- Computer-aided design / drafting (AutoCAD)
- GIS analysis
- Field work and construction oversight
- Client meetings and interaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following :
- Must be working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Strong computer skills, especially in using spreadsheets
- Experience or coursework with surface water modeling (e.g. HSPF, HEC-HMS, ICPR, etc.) and computer programming is desired but not necessary
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be capable of field work.
