Senior Enterprise Data Warehouse Engineer :

Reporting to the Director of BI and EDW, the Sr. EDW Engineer is responsible for successful delivery of Business Intelligence information to the entire organization.

This role acts as an acknowledged expert on data warehousing and reporting and is responsible for Analysis, design, development, implementation and support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and key reporting deliverables.

Essential Functions

• Translate business requirements into a star / snowflake schema data model
• Design and develop ETL processes to support population of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and general data movement needs
• Design, develop, and implement key reporting artifacts
• Support implemented DW / BI solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues
• Evolve the Enterprise Data Warehouse by working with IT management to develop a strategic roadmap for Data Warehousing and BI
• Work to empower business users to gain access to key data to allow them to report and analyze business information
• Establish and ensure compliance to database standards through the entire development life cycle
• Mentors DW / BI staff and provides feedback and guidance
• Plans complex DW / BI implementations and serves as Project Lead
• Other job-related duties as assigned
• Meet all compliance requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements
• Expert Level understanding of BI Best Practices / Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques
• Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure, BI report development and business analyst resources, and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of DW / BI user security design and management
• Ability to monitor performance of and tune complex DW and BI processes
• The ability to duplicate data on different servers using replication process
• Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, stored procedures and triggers
• Self-starter, with great analytical and communication skills
• Responsibilities for defining, altering, deleting, binding and managing database objects such as databases, table-spaces, partitions, tables, indexes, views, plans, and packages
• Project leadership / management skills
• Must be a team player
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (Database, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in a complex data warehouse environment
• Hands-on Data warehousing project experience and experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, implementation, tuning and support
• Experience extracting reporting / analytics requirements from business users

Required Certification / License

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio Casino Control Commission Gaming License, an Ohio Casino Control Commission Sports Gaming License, and a Ohio Lottery Commission Gaming License
