The Manager, Annual Fund and Donor Relations is an integral member of the Development team, creating and coordinating Broad Based appeals, leading short-term and long-term prospect research, and providing essential event support to ensure a streamlined donor experience and maximize pathways to new donor engagement in the culture of philanthropy at Alliance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- With strategic direction from the Director of Individual Giving and Manager of Individual Giving, coordinates Broad Based Giving (BBG) direct mail, digital communications, and other campaigns, including the design and execution of 4-6 broad-based appeal campaigns annually. Duties include segmenting and list pulls, setting up mail merge data, and pricing and scheduling with printer and mail house.
- In collaboration with the rest of the Individual Giving team, organize stewardship special events for all donors at the theatre, such as backstage tours and costume shop events.
- Provide support as needed to Special Events Manager for regular Opening Night celebration events (8-10 per year), with presence required at majority of events throughout the year. Supports Associate Director of Corporate Relations with ad hoc corporate events (3-4 per year).
- Develop and execute regular, targeted fundraising campaigns for specific individual giving programs such as Sustainer Society, Advisory Board, and to-be-determined affinity groups, such as Young Professionals.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing department to identify best practices for digital outreach and strategize creative content for emails and social media. With support from Digital Communications Manager, leads content management of "Support" pages on alliancetheatre.org and other digital outlets.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward portfolio of Patron Supporters and Sustainer Society donors, developing strong relationships to increase opportunities for growth in donor ladder.
- Serve as concierge for individual donors in portfolio, personally handling ticket requests and membership entry, executing benefit delivery on an annual and rolling basis with Individual Giving team.
- Lead prospect research and systems for Individual Giving, including annual, major gifts, planned giving, and campaign gifts. This includes administrative support for the current Imagine Endowment campaign for the Goizueta Stage.
- Manage annual Alliance Theatre online auction and other special fundraising opportunities as they arise, including significant support responsibilities in organizing potential future gala or signature event.
- Provide support as needed for gift entry and acknowledgement process, in collaboration with Development Operations and Institutional Giving Manager.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE :
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Some early mornings, evenings and weekends are required for special events

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative support experience OR four years of equivalent work experience preferred.Experience in fundraising / development or marketing strongly preferred.Skills and Abilities :
Detail oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially related to content creation and broad-based messaging.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects while navigating cross departmental needs.Ability to communicate with all departments, working collaboratively as needed with a variety of people, creating and maintaining an innovative and cooperative staff work environment.Excellent attention to detail and follow-through techniques for multiple tasks. Background in the arts preferred.Highly proficient with MS Word, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Donor database, point of sale software, or similar experience required; experience with Tessitura strongly preferred.
