Northwest Houston client is hiring a Sr. Payroll Manager. Must have experience with large payroll 12,000+ employees, multi-state and multi-company.
Job Description :
Seeking a Senior Payroll Manager that is capable of managing all aspects of multi-state and multi-company payroll processing for our large and growing organization.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive payroll expertise, strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with SAP.
Familiarity with Dayforce will be considered an added advantage.
Responsibilities :
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 7+ payroll staff to ensure accurate and timely payroll process.
Oversee the processes for payroll calculations, deductions, and benefits administration for the company, carried out in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Manage all local, state, and federal tax filings.
Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to streamline the process and enhance accuracy.
Liaise with HR, Accounting, and other departments to ensure proper flow of data.
Analyze periodic payroll reports and present to management.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
10+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a multi-state, multi-site organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with SAP, Dayforce experience is a plus.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
Strong leadership skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll management or related field
- Proficiency in using payroll software such as Ceridian and SAP is essential
- In-depth understanding and experience in multi-state payroll, including payroll for union employees
- Strong auditing skills are required
- Experience in full cycle payroll management is crucial
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for creating detailed reports and data analysis
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to liaise with various departments effectively
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred
- Certification from the American Payroll Association (APA) is a plus
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with current payroll tax requirements and regulations
- Experience in implementing payroll software is a plus.
