Senior Control Engineer

The Senior Controls Engineer role responsibilities :
- Automation Standards : Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of company automation standards in SCADA / HMI / PLC programming.
- Technical Documentation : Create comprehensive electrical and networking diagrams for large-scale projects using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Develop technical documentation, including Technical User Manuals and Detailed Design Specification documents.
- Vendor Collaboration : Continuously research and collaborate with automation vendors on sensors, controls, and testing equipment for potential projects and system upgrades.
- Database Maintenance : Maintain, update, and backup SQL and Historian databases for enterprise operations on a weekly basis.
- Automation Solutions : Design, develop, test, and maintain automation solutions in both electrical and software domains across various process areas.
- Energy Cube Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues with live Energy Cube (1000 volt DC) electrical connections and components using a multimeter.
- Inverter and Power Supply Upgrades : Troubleshoot and upgrade AC-DC inverters and / or DC power supplies for Energy Cube testing.
- Remote and Flexible Work : Be available to work on PLC / HMI / SCADA / Server / Electrical applications at any time, including nights, weekends, or holidays, aligned with production downtime.
Education and skills needed for the Senior Controls Engineering position :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering required
- Automation Solutions : Capable of designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale automation solutions.
- PLC and HMI / SCADA Programming : At least 8 years of hands-on experience.
- Robotic Arm Programming : Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably with Fanuc programming skills, interfacing with PLCs.
- Networking Protocols : At least 5 years of experience with Ethernet / IP, Modbus TCP, RS485, and CIP Safety protocols.
- Electrical Troubleshooting : Over 8 years of experience in troubleshooting 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC systems. Comfortable with troubleshooting 1000VDC electrical circuitry and components.
- Technical Proficiency : Proficient in Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) PLC / HMI / SCADA, Fanuc Robot Arms, MES, Historian Server, and SQL Database solutions.
- Certifications and Programming : Certificate in Lean-Six-Sigma and experience with high-level programming languages such as C++ is a plus.
- Safety and Compliance : Proficient in LOTO procedures and familiar with GAMP 5 Guidelines. Good understanding of NEC, IBC, and NFPA standards.
- MS Office Proficiency : Strong communication and documentation skills using MS Office products, particularly in URS, FRS, DDS, and FAT processes.
Travel
Local and overnight travel within North America may be required less than 10% of the time
