We are looking for a candidate that can thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment. The Longo Used Cars Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting vehicles bodies to ensure the body work meets manufacturer and quality specifications.

The Longo Used Cars Quality Control Inspector Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Rate of $18.50.

This position is 100% on site at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects vehicles bodies to ensure the body work meets manufacturer and quality specifications.
  • Ensures mechanical parts on the vehicle were replaced in accordance with the repair order, manufacturer, and quality specifications.
  • Inspects repaired vehicles for dimensional accuracy.
  • Reads and interprets work orders, inspection manuals, and any other materials to determine inspection and testing procedures.
  • Monitors progress and completion of vehicles to ensure proper repair and safety procedures are followed.
  • Strives to meet production and quality objectives set by the management team.
  • Communicates with Used Car Office and Shop Supervisor on status of vehicles being inspected.
  • Returns vehicles to technicians that do not meet quality standards.
  • Operates tools and equipment in a safe manner and maintains them in a proper state of repair.
  • Assists in all other areas of the UCD, as needed.
  • Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
  • Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and automobile paint standards
  • Bureau of Automotive Repair rules and regulations
  • Fully proficient in mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages)
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other employees
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, internet and in person; and use standard office equipment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable and safe driving record
  • Must maintain high ethical standards in all actions

Individual will be required to :

  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and / or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and / or enclosed spaces.
  • Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Operating motor vehicles and / or heavy equipment.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
