About The Position
Job Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal ICU (Night Shift) Job Specialty : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - RRT-NICU Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (18 : 30 - 07 : 00) Guaranteed Hours : 36 Hours / Week Experience : Minimum 2 years in Adult Critical Care and NICU;
1 prior travel assignment completed License : Valid State Licensure Certifications : - BLS - CRT - NRP - ACLS (preferred) - PALS (preferred) Must-Have : - Experience in Adult Critical Care and NICU - ED experience preferred - Comfortable with various respiratory therapies and equipment - Must have the Flu vaccine Job Description : Perform airway management including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, and nasal / oral airway placement and suctioning.
- Conduct pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection.- Manage tracheostomy and suctioning.- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABG).
- Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, and others.- Set up equipment such as high flow nasal cannula, trach collar, BiPAP, and CPAP.
- Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and assist in weaning patients from mechanical ventilation.- Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage umbilical blood gases.
- Use Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, Servo U.- Utilize Cerner for charting.- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required.
- Float between Adult and NICU units as needed.- Complete orientation modules with recorded transcripts.- Maintain professional competency and adhere to facility protocols and procedures.
