SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Research Coordinator, performs a variety of research and administrative functions to support the tripartite mission of the New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging / Department of Geriatrics & Gerontology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintains spreadsheets and compiles descriptive statistics for ongoing research projects.
Assists providers in identifying, recruiting and consenting appropriate patients to enroll in research trials.
Collaborates with providers and staff to improve project workflows and patient / caregiver experience. Effectively communicates with facility providers, staff, patients and caregivers.
Provides assistance in coordinating the schedule for patients enrolled in the Memory Assessment Program.
Administers and scores psychological assessments; provides relevant testing information to providers.
Maintains testing materials, files and databases; coordinates with providers to collect all necessary patient information.
Maintains schedules and records of research activities across multiple projects.
Conducts literature searches and reviews, evaluates and disseminates findings.
Participates in the preparation of abstracts, posters, manuscripts and grant proposals.
Gathers and organizes documents and citations, produces tables, spreadsheets and slideshow presentations for inclusion; edits drafts and final version.
Attends and contributes to project meetings as required to fulfill clinical services and grant-related initiatives.
Assists in identifying potential sources of extramural funding.
Assists in preparing and maintaining IRB submissions and protocols and other grant related reporting documents.
Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
Coursework and at least one year experience in statistics and administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological / psychological tests with patients with dementia.
Experience with conducting literature searches, preparing grant applications, and manuscripts, maintaining computerized databases and working on grant related projects highly preferred.
Experience and knowledge using statistical software such as SPSS or SAS. Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team required.
Experience working with patients in a clinical services setting desirable. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines required.

Residency Requirements
Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52 : 14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70).
Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.
