The Staff Accountant at Texthelp will own the processing of all North American payroll, but more importantly is expected to own, manage and provide insightful analysis related to the company's largest P&L expense, staff costs.
In this role you will gain exposure to domestic and international leadership coordinating and working with department heads, FP&A, and other finance leadership to provide insightful analysis related to staffing costs.
Success in this role can quickly provide an opportunity to take on more month end responsibilities and expand your impact within the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Payroll Responsibilities
- Processing of semi-monthly payroll and maintaining support for any pay run adjustments
- Maintaining ADP payroll system to ensure up to date information (new hires, terms, benefit deductions, department coding, etc..)
- Working with supervisor to implement controls and process changes to drive efficient and secure payroll processing
- Supporting supervisor in reviews of quarterly state and federal filings as well as maintaining and supporting supervisor with various state compliance changes and communications
- Responsible for all JEs & accruals and reconciliations of GL related payroll accounts
- Manage all communications and reconciliations. Support commission calculations
- Management of 401k funding and working with supervisor and third party fiduciary to support various compliance requirements of plan
- Manage all benefits accounting allocations (healthcare, dental, etc..)
- Support & complete ad hoc analysis for the organization in relation to payroll
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1+ years’ experience in a staff or senior accountant role with payroll accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP and reporting systems is required.
- Demonstrable history of accountability and sound judgment; highest ethical standards and focus on quality and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
- Ability to expand beyond payroll and take on general accounting ME close functions
- Prior SaaS business experience preferred.
- Experience working with stakeholders / partners across the organization
