Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records.
The RN administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients in the clinic setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assesses patient problems both in the office and on the phone, to determine disposition of patient.
- Facilitates patient care and documents all communication into the electronic medical record (EMR) .
- Communicates physician treatment plan including lab / imaging results to patients and documents appropriately within the EMR.
- Administers medications to patients and monitors patients for reactions or side effects.
- Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.
- Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Instructs individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education and disease prevention. Develops health improvement programs.
- Engages in continuous learning, adjusts the application knowledge, skills and abilities while addressing new challenges as contextual realities change.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Work hours are variable based on patient care needs.
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, ability to walk, some bending, stooping and stretching.
- Capability for overhead and low reaching activities.
- Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and occasional use of other office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing / eyesight / voice projection to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately.
- Physical strength for equipment needs and patient care activities; may require lifting / moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting / moving more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs.
- Ability to make constant / frequent judgment / response to problems.
- Exposure to noisy equipment.
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, high stress / pressure, handles emergency or crisis situation, regular interaction with emotional patients and / or family members.
- Work is performed in a patient care setting and may involve exposure to infections, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, radiation, laser, waste gases, and blood and body fluids.
- Frequent exposure to water and chemicals used in disinfection / sterilization processes.

Age-Specific Care :
The patient care requirements include those of adult and geriatric patient population.
Requirements : Qualifications
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) years’ experience preferred.
- RN license and certification required by state . BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
- Ability to verbalize understanding of the nursing process, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Has knowledge and understanding of physical and emotional disease processes, clinical nursing skills, and administration of medications.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
