Job Summary

We areseeking a Sr Operations Engineer to join SAMREF Max Chemicals (SMC)Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Departmentto perform optimization of refinery chemicals integration selectionof steam cracker and C4 coproducts process licensors ensuringsafety and environmental compliance.

This role will drive thedevelopment of project assessment and the delivery of projectrequirement. This is a refinery residue upgrade integrated withpetrochemical steam cracker complex to be built in Yanbu westernregion of Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities :

• Evaluate and screen a range of technologyoptions for defining the Baseline Configuration.
• Align the level of detail needed and identify sources fortechnology input for LP (LongRange Planning) operating expenses(opex) and major considerations for facility scope.
• Define the Process technology roadmap and establish atimeline for engagement with technologylicensors / providers.
• Outline PreFEED / FEED(Front End Engineering Design) plans and deliverables related tofacility design basis.
• Lead the evaluation oftechnology options and oversee the screening process.
• Review the details and inputs for technology options andoutputs from the LP model including process yields qualities opexetc.
• Provide technical inputs on the selectedtechnologies and sensitivity cases.
• Identifyopportunities for thirdparty involvement.
• Liaise with thirdparty vendors / suppliers to obtainnecessary information.
• Support the GovernmentEngagement workstream and GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Abatement Readinessworkstream by developing technical documents assessing technologyand evaluating capital efficiency among other tasks.

Requirements :

• Experience 10 years inmanaging refinerychemicals integration.
• Handson experience in refinery operations.
• Expertise in selecting process licensors and analyzingtechnologies for steam cracker and C4 coproductsprocesses.
• Proficiency in understandingchemical process yields qualities and operating expenses(opex).
• Familiarity with economics and capitalefficiency in the context of chemical processes.
• Experience in developing the basis for chemicals facilityscope.
• Involvement in capital projectdevelopment within the refinery or chemicals sector particularly inPreFEED / FEED stages.
• Understanding of moleculeoptimization and the integration of synergies inprocesses.
