About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 4x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS / Tele / PCU (Neuro stepdown experience with NIHHS certification preferred).
First-time travelers are not accepted. License : Oregon license required Certifications : BLS through AHA Must-Have : Management of telemetry- Interpretation of cardiac rhythms- Non-invasive airway management- Peripheral line care / management- Rapid response team activation- Management of dysrhythmias- Computerized documentation- O2 Protocol- Experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, other IMCU LOC gtts).
- Isolation precautions / PPE- NIHSS Certification preferred Job Description : Work in the Neuro Trauma Care Unit (NTCU) serving patients with brain or nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, meningitis, encephalitis, strokes, and spinal injuries.
- Provide outstanding patient care while adhering to established best practices and protocols.- Conduct NIHSS assessments, swallow screen, and spine immobilization.
- Participate as a part of the rapid response team.- Flexible to float within scope of practice to meet facility needs, including potential float to a nearby affiliate hospital.
- Contribute to and uphold the standards for the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center (PSC) Certification and Joint Commission Spine Center of Excellence Certification.
- Maintain proper charting using Epic systems.- Adhere to safety and sanitary protocols, including the use of PPE for isolation precautions.
- Comply with facility scheduling preferences and collaborate effectively with the care team.- Work every other weekend as required, but not greater than every other weekend.
