Work Shift
Full Time Third Shift (5 : 45 pm 2 : 15 am).
Occasional rotating weekends and peek operational needs may alter this schedule to meet business needs. Flexibility is key for this position.
This position is FLSA non-exempt and overtime may be required as necessary.
Purpose
University Unions proudly offers a comprehensive range of services across multiple buildings on campus. Our spaces include meeting and performance venues, administrative offices, dining operations and recreational facilities like our bowling alley and cutting-edge Esports spaces.
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a full time Building Attendant II for the University Unions.
This position is located in the Texas Union.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the area immediately outside the facility remains neat and clean.
- Assist with floor care, including shampooing carpets, scrubbing floors and stripping and finishing floors.
- Clean, stock and maintain the male and female restrooms.
- Assist with room set-ups and breakdowns for special events.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and remove trash throughout the facility.
- Follow job requirements, and direction from building supervisors.
- Use proper cleaning materials, correctly operate janitorial equipment and adhering to required safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by the building supervisors.
Required Qualifications
Experience in any of the following fields : custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance.
Experience following basic work instructions.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
High school graduation or GED. Six months or more experience in any of the above listed fields. Demonstrated ability to communicate with supervisors and peer group in a timely and effective manner.
Experience using industrial-sized custodial equipment. Ability to read and understand work orders, written instructions, product labels and instructions, and other written job materials.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to be an effective team member. Flexibility is key for this position
Salary Range
$36,342 Annually

Retirement Plan Eligibility :
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
