SUS is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join our first-class team. This position will travel primarily within the Curtis Bay and Baltimore, Maryland area and minimal travel along the East Coast.

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

This position will have project engineer and entry level project management responsibilities in a marine construction and commercial diving environment as well as assist with estimating tasks when requested.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities

• Provide contract management support to Contracts Manager and Project Managers to include change orders, preparation of subcontracts, purchase orders, PSA's, project schedules, client billings, material pricing, project buyout, etc.
• Participate in Bid to Job turnover meetings to understand project set up for job costing and revenue reporting.
• Prepare submittals for the project including material certifications, shop drawings and any other documents required by the Contract and maintain an accurate submittal log if required.
• Assist with the development of project schedules and updates as required.
• Reviews accounts payable invoices for the project to ensure correct coding.
• Assists in the analysis on potential impacts to the job, ie; cost overruns, savings, quantity variances, material variances, rework, etc.

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER REQUIREMENTS :

Assistant Project Manager Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand project plans, specifications and scope of work.
• Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent independent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficient with Viewpoint, Heavy Job, Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

Assistant Project Manager Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is required.
• Experience in the Construction Industry is preferred but not required.

SAFETY

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and construction diving.

This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances, in addition to completing underwater construction activities.

This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
