Job Summary
An aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircrafts to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.
This is a 1st Shift position : Monday Thursday 5 am 3 : 30 pm
What You Will Do :
- Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
- Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble / disassembly and test a jet engine.
- Ensure all phases of assembly / disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have :
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in an aviation mechanic role or appropriate technical training
- Understanding of Disassembly, Assembly, Test (DAT)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.
Qualifications We Value :
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License OR Powerplant (P)
- Basic understanding of Raytheon’s CORE Operating System
- Engine overhaul and repair experience, GTF and / or F117, PW2000, in one or more of the following disciplines : Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, Turbine Engine Test Operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Pratt & Whitney Columbus, GA is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
