Summary :
Responsible for patient assessment, patient care planning,and provision of quality nursing care to an assigned group ofpatients for a defined work period.
Provides direction andsupervision to LVN / LPNs, nursing assistants, unit secretaries andother clinical / clerical associates.
By assignment, may function ascharge nurse for the unit. Involves provision of patientcare / service to older adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric andpediatric patients.

Associate's Degree inNursing
Experience
One year experience in nursingpreferred.
Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RNLicense
- BLS (American HeartAssociation)
- ACLS required at time of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end ofthe clinical orientation period.
- NIHSSrequired within 90 days of hire / transferdate
- De-escalation training required within 90days of hire / transfer date
- TNCC required within6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses mustobtain TNCC within 18 months of hire / transferdate.
- PALS required at time of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain PALS by the end ofthe clinical orientation period.
