About The Position

• Comfortability to run groups
• Medication passes
• Documentation skills

Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Psychiatric Unit.

The start date is flexible for the right candidate.

This is a 12-hour night shift position from 7 PM to 7 AM.

The unit has a mix of pediatric and adult patients.

The pediatric population includes ages 5 to 18.

Common diagnoses for pediatric patients include eating disorders, depression, and anxiety.

Adult patients typically present with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

The facility is a locked unit but does not contain forensic patients or inmates.

Seclusion rooms are available for necessary use.

Nurses may encounter substance use disorder patients, but they must be medically cleared.

The RN-to-patient ratio during the night shift is 1 : 13 with support available.

Support includes nurse supervisors, nurse managers, charge nurses, and psychiatric technicians.

Daily rounds are conducted by a psychiatrist, with on-call coverage during the night.

Floating between pediatric and adult units is required.

All staff respond to patient escalations.

The charting system utilized is Cerner, and medication administration is through Pyxis.

Expected to rotate weekends and work holidays as needed.

Approval for time off is subject to scheduling needs.

Scrub colors must be solid and professional.
