About the Position :
The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative, and best in class IT organization that provides a leading edge technology environment for students, faculty, and staff to advance the University’s mission, vision, and goals.
We seek an exceptional individual to join our IT-Enterprise Resource Planning team as the Business Intelligence Analyst (Analyst / Programmer - Expert).

Provides independent, high-level support for analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of the Business Intelligence technical solutions, with specialization in areas of the position’s assigned partner department (i.
e., Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, or Administration and Finance). Serves as the subject matter expert for campus data warehouse.
Provides guidance in the design and development of dashboards and reports and serves as the primary lead for them on behalf of the partner department.
Primarily responsible for developing ETL processes, loading and validating data from source systems into the data warehouse.
Functions as the primary contact for user support and perform initial assessment. Research user issues and independently resolve a wide range of technical problems with diverse constituency of campus users.
Interacts with a wide variety of faculty, staff, managers, and vendors to understand and address problem from a broad, interactive perspective and develop long range technical solutions that combine information and ideas in new, unprecedented ways.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field plus five years of relevant full-time experience.
Twelve years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement.
Advanced knowledge of the work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of the advanced principles and theories. Ability to integrate and apply work related knowledge to achieve innovative solutions.
Ability to anticipate the impact of problems and solutions on other systems. Ability to investigate and research new systems and technologies and develop complex information technology systems and solutions.
Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and explore, conceive, and implement solutions and ideas in new ways.
Ability to predict and anticipate problems and be proactive when creating solutions. Demonstrated communication expertise using persuasion and negotiation.
Ability to lead technical team efforts and assess skills within a team while working to build on individual strengths to maximize team results.
Ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and / or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years working knowledge and practical experience on high profile data warehouse projects involving Business Intelligence Solutions.
A minimum of three years’ experience using SQL, R, PySparc, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS Athena, AWS QuickSight, AWS Redshift, Oracle DB, Tableau, Apache SuperSet, and AWS Cloud Formation.
Ability to use products such as Oracle PBCS, Oracle OBIEE. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, specifically to communicate technical computing related topics and solutions to a nontechnical audience and understanding the functional aspects of the overall business operations.
Experience in Higher Education Environment. Experience in Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions SIS and AWS Cloud Analytics solutions.
Strong documentation skills.
