Senior Engineer, Financial Applications
Overview
This role is responsible for the development, implementation and support of Foot Locker’s Corporate Technology systems in the Finance application portfolio, including SAP (Ariba), Accruent (Lucernex), Fexa (Facilities Mgmt) as well as integrations to Oracle Fusion Finance ERP and Peoplesoft ERP applications, among other related business systems.
As an Associate Engineer in our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality systems and solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our technology infrastructure is robust, scalable, and aligned with the company's objectives.

Responsibilities
- Estimate, design, develop, configure, test and deploy reliable, scalable, and maintainable Finance related systems and applications.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in PeopleSoft and Oracle Cloud Financials (emphasis on AP functions / invoicing)
- Have experience in web services (REST, SOAP), integration protocols (XML, JSON) and API development
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into system designs, specifications and test plans
- Conduct thorough testing of systems and applications to ensure functionality, security, and performance.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
- Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively addressing any issues and proactively identifying opportunities to improve existing systems and processes.
- Maintain and update documentation related to system design, development, and maintenance processes.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure that all systems and applications adhere to security best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and the effectiveness of the team.
- Mentor junior team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience working with Peoplesoft or Oracle financial applications.
- Understanding of Windows, Linux, and AIX / UNIX operation systems, Oracle and SQL Server databases, web servers / services, application servers, network and security protocols, data storage solutions, file system construction and management.
- Experience with version control systems (., Git, GitHub), CI / CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (., GCP, Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud).
- Must have experience and proficiency working with application software vendors
- Knowledge of security best practices and tools relevant to the discipline.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Experience working with enterprise datasets and conducting performance tuning and optimization.
Nice to Haves :
- Experience with various SDLC methodologies, preferably Agile
- Knowledge of systems integration platforms such as Boomi or MuleSoft
- Basic knowledge of accounting and corporate finance functions
Benefits
The annual base salary range is $90,000 - $140,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.
This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
