Position and Project Overview :

San Diego BioMed (SDB) is seeking a full-time or part-time, focused and detail-oriented Research Associate to work in the laboratory of one of its Professors / Principal Investigators. The lab is focused on chromatin 3D organization / replication timing using pluripotent stem cells / in vitro differentiation / genome editing with CRISPR / genomics. The major goals of the lab are to understand the mechanisms regulating replication timing during cell fate transitions. The Research Associate will perform a variety of hands-on research duties in the laboratory.

Project details :

Identifying the DNA sequence requirements of ERCEs (early replication Control Elements) using a high throughput insertion assay.

Job Duties :

Perform pluripotent stem cell culture and engineering, screening by PCR
Prepare NGS libraries (mainly Repli-seq, Bru-seq, more as needed)
Update lab inventories (supplies, chemicals, reagents) and ordering consumables.
Draft and update lab protocols.
Monitor and maintain lab equipment, arrange repair if needed
Write up experiments (date, description and inferences) in a timely manner.
Assist PI with regulatory documents
Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications :

B.S. or M.S. degree in or related to the areas of biomedical sciences

Candidates with a Ph.D. in a related area are also encouraged to apply

Minimum 3 years of experience.

Previous experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology

Familiarity with LINUX

Self-motivated and independent problem solving are important

Familiarity with genomics data management and / or analysis or willingness to learn

Pay Range :

The pay range for this position is : $55,000 -70,000 per year. San Diego BioMed will evaluate various factors in determining the final salary offered to the successful candidate.
