The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The Assistant Director of Finance and Budget is responsible for performing the day to day business operations and financial transactions including Travel and Expense Reimbursements, pcard transactions, monthly journal entries and reporting, and financial closing / reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the inflow and outflow of Accounts Payable while providing exceptional customer service to Department staff and vendors.
  • Act as point of contact for travel and expense reimbursements, cash advances, deposits.
  • Assist with compilation of monthly financial reporting for coaches and management.
  • Research and reconcile process of travel and reimbursements, cash advances.
  • Act as point of contact for set up of new staff profiles and updating existing profiles.
  • Assists with all financial reporting, data collection and data analysis for 31 athletic programs and all administrative units
  • Prepare and present ad hoc reporting requests using appropriate visualization systems for internal and external use.
  • Review and respond to inquiries from staff, vendors and other university departments to independently resolves issues and communicate results and coordinate with other departments on a regular basis to share information and help drive performance improvements.
  • Support the Associate Athletics Director / CFO to transact monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes including preparation of journal entries and vouchers.
  • Assist with purchase requisitions, the creation of purchase orders, and following through processes in collaboration with the University's Purchasing Office and Support and assist Associate AD / CFO with requested University / NCAA reports as needed.
  • Coordinate staff trainings on new expense reimbursement policies and procedures and assist with integration of new expense and finance systems for department.
  • Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Council of Ivy League Presidents, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations.
  • Assume other Budget and Finance Office duties as assigned by the Associate AD / CFO and / or the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and / or its equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-4 years' related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a collegiate athletics department with demonstrated fiscal and operational management skills.
  • Understanding of financial planning, analytics and modeling.
  • Experience with Concur or similar expense management system preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Understanding of the mission and purpose of institutions of higher education is strongly preferred.
  • Master's Degree.
