What You'll Do
- Product Vision : Develop the vision, roadmap and prioritize features that have the maximum business impact.
- Lead and Mentor : Oversee development teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and exceed quality standards. Mentor and develop junior engineers to foster a culture of growth and innovation.
- Build Scalable Solutions : Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications that handle large-scale data processing and machine learning pipelines.
- Collaborate for Success : Partner closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to create exceptional user experiences.
- Drive Quality and Efficiency : Establish and uphold rigorous coding standards. Conduct code reviews and implement best practices to optimize development processes.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve : Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
- Lead and generate technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major programs.
- Lead development of software system team design content and software anomaly corrections.
- Perform complex design analysis.
- Specify and balance system requirements.
- Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among the software community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform or application component.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
- 7 or more years with object-oriented / object function scripting languages : Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Big Data Tools : Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
- Hands-on experience with design and development of highly available, distributed, and scalable systems for large scale data processing and machine learning.
- Experience in distributed data processing systems such as Hadoop, Spark and machine learning.
- General database entity design, SQL / PLSQL coding, query performance and efficiency tuning.
- Solid knowledge of web application development using client-side frameworks / libraries like AngularJS.
- Experience with Azure Cloud Technologies, and microservice approaches.
- Working knowledge of source control software (ADO, Git or SVN).
- Self-starter and quick learner who understands and can adapt to existing software application and computing infrastructures.
- Crafting self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components in back-end technologies : Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud Containers.
- Understanding messaging technologies such as Azure Event Service, Event Hub / Service Bus, Kafka, as well as other streaming applications & tools.
- Ability to architect and implement scalable high availability solutions.
- Proficiency in build / release pipeline solutions.
- Empathy with users internal and external, and a strong customer focus.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View , you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
