Description :

The Infant Teacher will be responsible for providing a nurturing and safe setting for infants and toddlers. This position will develop and implement age-appropriate programs and activities, provide guidance to support the physical, mental, and emotional development of the children, and create a positive learning environment.

Infant Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide an environment that is safe, positive, nurturing, and respectful of the children
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
  • Observe and assess the development of the children
  • Develop and implement behavior management strategies
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences
  • Maintain proper records, including documenting observations and milestones
  • Ensure all safety regulations are followed
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom
  • Model appropriate behaviors for children
  • Work with a team of teachers to ensure a cohesive and quality learning environment

Requirements :

Below are requirements for the position :

Infant Teacher Requirements and Qualifications·

Lead teacher requirements : High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in childcare classroom.

Lead teacher preferences : Bachelor's degree, particularly in the areas of early childhood education, child development, or social work.

Preference is given to candidates who have experience working with these specific age groups as well as early childhood education credentials, or their equivalent.

  • Knowledge of child development and curriculum development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to develop and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
  • Able to work collaboratively with a team
  • Able to maintain records and documentation
  • CPR and First-Aid certifications
  • Previous experience working with infants

SECTION 1 - REQUIRED PERSONAL QUALITIES OF DAVIDSON ACADEMY (ALL STAFF)

  • Is in whole-hearted agreement with the school's Statements of Faith and Beliefs and Philosophy of Christian education.

  • Appreciates and understands the diversity of the Davidson Academy community.
  • Recognizes the need for good public relations. Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school's constituency and the general public.
  • Treats co-workers, parents and students with friendliness, dignity, and respect.
  • Follows Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Seeks the counsel of the supervisor and colleagues while maintaining a teachable attitude.
  • Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.

SECTION 2 - REQUIRED SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT (ALL STAFF)

  • Believes that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living.
  • Is a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6 : 40).
  • Regularly attends a local, evangelical church, which has a Statement of Faith in harmony with the Davidson Academy Statement of Faith.
  • Shows by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ.
  • Reflects the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and every activity.
  • Motivates students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith.
  • Leads students to a realization of their worth in Christ.
  • Has the spiritual maturity, ability, and personal qualities to train up a child in the way he / she should go.
  • Recognizes the role of parents as holding primary responsibility before God for their children's education and is prepared to assist them in that task.
  • Maintains a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste, that is in agreement with any applicable school policy.
