Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception : an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer / promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance;

an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer / promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension.

Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department.

Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3 / 5 of the normal workweek.

We are currently seeking clinicians to join the Montefiore University Behavioral Associates WeCARE Program. WeCARE provides a continuum of services to help welfare recipients with medical and / or mental health conditions that affect their employability.

Bronx residents are referred to the UBA WeCARE program by the NYC Department of Social Services. In our program, these clients receive health and psychosocial assessments to identify clinical conditions and social barriers that may affect their ability to participate in work-related activities.

  • The WeCARE clinician’s role is to perform these health and psychosocial assessments. Clinicians should be knowledgeable about common medical / mental health conditions as they relate to documenting a relevant medical history;
  • knowledgeable about common medications for treatment of these conditions; knowledgeable about Social Security Disability criteria;

and have good writing skills.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Interview clients, review medical records / documentation, and confer with medical staff to document clients' mental and physical conditions and to determine their suitability for participation in program activities, including an employability determination.

2. Determine a Functional Capacity Outcome and write a supporting justification at the completion of the assessment.

3. Recognize when additional specialty assessments (Psychology, Medical) are needed.

4. Maintain and properly store client provided medical documentation and documentation.

5. Report to the Assistant Director of Clinical Assessment and Supervisor of Clinical Assessment.

Education / Experience Requirements :

  • Master's Degree required
  • Social Work : 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mental health counseling : 1 year (Preferred)

License / Certification :

  • LMSW, CRC, LHMC or LCSW (Required)

Starting Range : $67,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year depending on experience.

7.5 Hours worked per day.
