About The Position
Job Title : Surgical TechnologistJob Specialty : Operating Room, OR Technologist, Orthopedic, Surgical TechnologistJob Duration : 13 weeksShift : 36 hours / week, nights, 12-hour shifts, 6 : 30 pm - 7 : 00 am weekday rotation.
No weekends.Guaranteed Hours : 36Experience : Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
Strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience including heart and lung. Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital is preferred.
Ortho trauma, Eye, ENT, Neuro experience is helpful.License : Must have a permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association only.Must-Have : Minimum cardiac, thoracic, cardiovascular experience including heart and lung transplant experience.
Travelers must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital. Two completed references from recent work environment / assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years).
Job Description : - Prepare the Operating Room prior to surgery.- Promote the safety of the patient during surgery and provide assistance to the surgeon.
- Care for the patient during surgery and manage the instruments and supplies used in surgery.- Function as a member of the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
- Possess knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- May have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on current staffing needs.- Floating travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and / or based on the traveler's competency skills / experience.
- Handle re-assigned shifts to different units within the organization if the primary unit no longer has a need, in order to complete the contract.
