Konik is partnering with an award-winning architecture, interior design, and planning firm based in Minneapolis that is seeking an energetic marketing professional to lead their marketing initiatives and help expand their successful national practice.

The Marketing Director will manage all marketing operations, develop comprehensive marketing plans, execute marketing programs, oversee proposal opportunities, track leads, and lead social media and PR efforts.

Your role will involve working with cross-functional teams, including executives, principals, project architects, interior designers, and administrative staff.

This fast-paced and varied position requires flexibility to work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Marketing Efforts : Oversee all marketing activities, including establishing marketing goals, overseeing proposal responses, tracking leads, managing social media and PR platforms, and setting annual departmental budgets.
  • Lead Tracking : Assist in managing, organizing, and updating lead tracking on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborative Development : Work with a marketing coordinator to develop Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, collateral materials, and other client development and retention materials.

Manage concurrent marketing files / proposals.

Opportunity Tracking : Locate and track new project opportunities and proposals at local, regional, and national levels.

Coordinate the RFP 'go / no go' process.

  • Manage Distribution Channels : Oversee marketing and PR distribution channels, including the website, social media (LinkedIn, Facebook), and external public relations consultants to ensure brand consistency and timely firm announcements.
  • Proposal and Interview Strategy : Assist firm leaders in proposal and interview strategy sessions to establish approach and campaign direction.
  • Trade Shows and Conventions : Coordinate marketing needs for annual industry trade shows and conventions.
  • Branding Standards : Maintain company branding standards across all formats (print, web, media, PR).
  • Database Management : Manage the database of project information, images, and graphics.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent strategy execution, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and large teams efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective and cooperative working relationships with various personality types, as well as vendors, clients, and consultants.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience in editing text and graphic content.
  • Experience in developing winning proposals in the design and professional services industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or communications.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading successful marketing and business development programs, preferably for a professional services firm.
  • 5+ years of management experience directing, mentoring, and leading business development and marketing staff.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pivot to higher-priority tasks easily.
  • Experience working in an architecture, interior design, or professional services firm is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in office 4-5 days a week.
