Position Summary :

Patient Access Coordinator PT hours Thurs & Fri 330p-11p e / o weekend 330p-11p Sat & Sun

Summary :

Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and registration of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.

Responsibilities :

• Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
• Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into the computer database.
• Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.
• Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Treats patients / families professionally, with respect and dignity
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Education : High School graduate or equivalent.
• Experience : Previous experience with medical terminology
