Securities Litigation and Regulatory Associate Attorney
Matasar Jacobs LLC, a BigLaw spinoff located in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join our team.
Approaching our 10th anniversary, the firm's national practice focuses on representing securities broker / dealer firms, RIAs and financial advisors in a wide range of litigation, enforcement defense, regulatory counseling, and business matters.
Because of the nature of our practice, the firm is regularly adverse to AmLaw 200 firms. The successful candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in sophisticated commercial and / or employment litigation;
outstanding research and writing skills; and be highly motivated by the opportunity to engage in on-your feet advocacy in a wide range of matters.
Job responsibilities include :
- Handling matters involving broad range of commercial, business, securities litigation, including trial, arbitrations, and regulatory enforcement actions (SEC, FINRA and state).
- Participate in client advisement in the scope of financial services legal counsel.
- Conduct research and draft documents.
- Effectively render opinions on client matters that pertain to compliance, litigation, and regulatory concerns.
- Identify issues and problems and promptly develop solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education :
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- A member in good standing and licensed to practice law in the State of OH, or the ability to waive in.
- 3-6 years of substantive commercial litigation and / or employment litigation at a recognized firm is required.
- Sound working knowledge of RIA and SEC / FINRA concepts is preferred but not required.
- Must be an excellent legal researcher and writer, and be able to concisely and accurately communicate, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients and opposing counsel
- Able to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
- Intermittent travel required.
