FAST CASUAL SERVER / CASHIER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fast Casual Server / Cashier is responsible for providing efficient, friendly guest service for carryout and in-person guests;
processing guests’ payment, ringing food and beverage items for guests, collection of payment; and ensuring all aspects of professional service and guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Provideefficient, friendly guest service to dine-in and carryout guests and follow allsteps of service (including but not limited to taking and fulfilling in-person,phone & online orders, packaging to-go orders, refilling beverages,clearing tables) to ensure a positive guest experience
- Accuratelyprocess payments and balance all sales / receipts in compliance with restaurantpolicies and procedures
- Safelyand effectively transport food or beverages to a table
- Answertelephones and take orders and messages
- Ensurethe overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests’ needs
- Greetguests with a warm, sincere smile
- Usetact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guestneeds with patience and courtesy
- Understandand respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu
- Usesales techniques to present and encourage current promotions to guests
- Followall steps of service
- Understandand follow the food allergy procedure and special orders / restrictions
- Maintainproficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment,including the POS system and Frequent Diner, Gift Card and Credit Cardterminals
- Complywith all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Answertelephones, take orders, messages
- Selland accurately account for gift cards and / or merchandise
- Worka variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Safelyand effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Effectivelycommunicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written andspoken direction
- Multitaskcalmly and effectively under pressure
- Workin a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Ableto move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and / or lift up to 25 pounds,and occasionally move and / or lift up to 50 pounds
- Abilityto stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of therestaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
