Medical Distribution Product Management is responsible for identifying, recommending, designing, and implementing new solutions for the Medical and Surgical Product Distribution including new distribution models, practices, processes, metrics, and technology features.

Medical Distribution Strategic Marketing and Product Management team leads strategic planning, develops strategic vision and roadmap, and builds the business case and financial models for growth initiatives and product innovation.

The team leverages a strategic marketing framework to support marketing strategy and implementation plan and staging gate process to manage product development and commercialization.

Job Summary

As a Product Manager on the Product Management team, you will have responsibility for management of product solutions from inception to retirement and work towards building and enhancing Cardinal Health distribution product portfolio.

You will partner with our product management and leadership teams to build and align strategic vision. You will work with a cross-functional team to drive discovery research, problem validation, and solution verification.

You will support investments in your product by partnering with stakeholders and sponsors. You will quickly learn the Cardinal Health business and the Product Management processes to build, improve, and maintain your product lines.

This position reports directly to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Product Management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop medical product solution vision and strategy and build business case and financial model for top opportunities.
  • Break down vision and strategy to manageable product solution roadmap and implementation plan.
  • Conduct market research to uncover customer needs and market insights; translate those needs and insights into product solution roadmap that meets customer expectations and delivers profitable growth for the business.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to support product roadmap and development objectives.
  • Prioritize and manage business requirements to meet annual business objectives.
  • Oversee all stages of product development and commercialization from concept to commercial launch to ensure product value proposition meets customer needs and expectations and is aligned with business directions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and functional leaders on translating customer needs and preferences into requirements for all the functional and technical aspects of the product.
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process and clearly articulate progress, accomplishments, and challenges in various stakeholder meetings.
  • Partner with marketing and customer solutions teams in developing customer case studies and white papers.
  • Build relationships across the Medical Distribution business functions Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT.
  • Communication and collaboration with business stakeholders and project teams is a major part of product manager responsibilities.
  • Work closely with Enterprise IT on technology needs for product development.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional product management and marketing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience developing B2B product strategy and executing activities that achieve business goals business case, value proposition, product development roadmap, launch plan, etc. preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly and effectively get their point across.
  • People-savvy collaborator with confidence to manage stakeholders and routinely interact and influence an executive level audience.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus, preferably with healthcare supply chain and distribution companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, sciences, or engineering preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
