Join us and let’s get started. Job Description AECOM is seeking a Utilities Assistant Project Manager to be based in Sacramento, CA.
JOB SUMMARY : Under the general direction of the Utilities Project Manager and the Utilities Senior Project Manager coordinates utility work between the client, Design Builder, PCM teams, and third-party utilities.
Develops, builds, and maintains a positive and productive relationship with third-party utilities or railroads. Works with the client, PCM, and the design-builder to establish priorities, monitor progress and ensure compliance with the client’s goals and requirements.
Participate in utility and railroad issue resolution, prepare status reports, develops, and maintain project tracking systems for issues and resolutions, and address utility or railroad needs in a timely manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : + Coordinate with the client, Design Builder, PCM teams, and third-party utilities or railroads, attend meetings, review project documents, and report on discovered utility / railroad issues.
Report on discovered utility / railroad issues and participate in issue resolution. + Prepare status reports, and maintain a tracking log for issues and resolutions.
Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : + BA / BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : + A degree in Engineering, Business, or Law is preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in the utility / railroad field. + Experience in developing and reviewing alternative route studies.
- Experience in reviewing utility / railroad designs to ensure compliance with utility / railroad land rights and design standards.
- Knowledge of the Caltrans Utility Relocation Manual, Federal Statutes, and California State Statutes. + The ability to : + maintain good communication skills and working relationships with third-party agencies, management, consultants, private sector contractors, subcontractors, and their associations.
- prepare technical correspondence and complete comprehensive reports; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action;
and collaboration skills for meeting established project goals and objectives. + identify potential land rights conflicts that could create delays for the project.
- A general understanding of land survey principles, and the ability to read and plot legal descriptions. + Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and the ability to speak knowledgeably with other consultants, stakeholders, other governmental agencies, and individual citizens.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track large data sets, and the ability to illustrate, analyze and convey those data sets effectively.
- Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Power BI, scheduling software, and SharePoint.
- Be a self-starter and detail-oriented. Additional Information + Offered rate of compensation in California will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
