- Certs : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Ratios : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2
- EMR : Cerner Power chart
- Charge Nurse : yes - they do not take a patient assignment
- Nurse Aides : No
- Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
- Holidays : Yes 1 major, one minor for both winter and summer holidays
- Scrub Color : Navy
- Tele / Monitor Techs : 24 hardwire / 8 hardwire overflow, RN's must read and interpret strips, they do not have a monitor tech
- Drips : neosynephrine, levophed, vasopressin, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, etc.
- Vents : Yes
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Intensivist in house 24 / 7
- IV Team : No
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
- Shifts : 12 hr shifts 0645-1915, 1845-0715
- Floating : They will have to float to tele (1 to 4)
- Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts on unit
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Trauma, MVC, post cath, post CABG(no travelers), sepsis, resp failure, No CRRT, stents - yes, ballon pumps - no, crani'
s, ventrics - no travelers, travelers must have experience with doing neuro assessments, ICP monitoring no, must have trauma experience, looking for general medical surgical ICU experience
- Additional Notes : Must have 2 years of experience working in ICU, prior travel experience is preferred.
