Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Advantage Engineering Associates P.C. (AEA) is currently seeking a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our firm.

This individual will be working on exciting transportation infrastructure projects and will serve as a member of an integrated design team.

They will be responsible for performing Plumbing and Fire Protection designs, coordinating with other disciplines and clients to meet project deliverables and schedules.

Qualifications :

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of eight years' experience in a technical and project lead capacity reflecting increasing responsibility
• Proficient in project management
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
• Exceptional knowledge of HVAC System Engineering for large public facilities
• Exceptional knowledge of the International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, and applicable Building Codes
• Knowledge of Electrical, Fire Protection, and special systems engineering
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors

Responsibilities :

• Participate in and support project teams to undertake the design and delivery of services related to design and construction of HVAC, as well as the overall project
• Function as Project Lead Engineer and Project Manager on assignments with mechanical / HVAC design scope and other disciplines
• Ensure coordinated design on projects
• Create and review drawings, technical specifications
• Contribute to estimation of projects, planning, and construction feasibility
• Participate in the development of design drawings
• Provide advisory information during the construction phase
• Perform site surveys and contribute to engineering studies
• Attend and contribute to office, client, and project meetings
• Monitor project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
• Ensure the quality of the work produced maintains high standards
• Perform technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings
• Follow up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns
• Support applicable requests as needed
